My Story
My life took many turns before leading me to the craft I love most: custom woodworking. My true passion lies in building things by hand, carefully, thoughtfully, and with attention to detail.
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and moved to San Francisco in 1996. I began my local career as an entry-level gardener for Lynda Cense Landscaping. One day, I was asked to help build a retaining wall with another crew, and by the end of that day I knew I’d found my calling. I transitioned from gardening into landscape construction, and eventually into general construction working at Spryscapes Construction. Here I worked with co-owner and carpenter Michael Galousin where, as an apprentice, I was taught a wide range of skills that included carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
Before long, I started my own handyman business and began taking on more custom carpentry projects. In 2012, I rented a bench at Robert Leeds Fine Woodworking in Dogpatch. There, I trained one-on-one with my mentor Robert, learning the fine points of woodwork and design. I created custom cabinetry, built-ins, mantles, floating shelves, doors, windows, mouldings, and wainscoting. I was honing my ability to mill raw lumber into something both useful and beautiful.
In 2017, I became a licensed General Contractor and founded my own company. Since then, my work has expanded across the Bay Area, including commercial builds such as storefronts in the Financial District and Potrero Hill.
Over the years, the best part of the work has been the lasting relationships I’ve built with clients, collaborators and fellow craftsmen. Those connections, along with the satisfaction of delivering quality work, are what truly make this work meaningful to me.
